Game 3: Minnesota's Zac Gallen (15-6, 3.73) at Cleveland's Brandon Woodruff (8-7, 4.20)
The series shifts to Cleveland where a raucous Indians crowd did its best to make the Rock
a hostile environment. The visiting team scored again in the first inning as the Twins got
shallow two-out singles from Nate Lowe, Mike Moustakas and Tommy Pham, the last scoring Lowe
from third. Minnesota's Zac Gallen had good stuff, striking out two men in each of the first
three innings, but Cleveland sneaked in a solo homer from Carlos Correa in the second and
then got a Brian Anderson single and Gleyber Torres homer in the third to make it 3-1 Tribe.
Surprisingly, that's where the scoring ended as neither team got a runner as far as second
base after that, combining for just three singles and a walk in six innings. Gallen struck
out nine and Brandon Woodruff eight for Cleveland, which won 3-1 to take a 2-1 series lead.
Except for four runs allowed in the Game 2 blowout by mopup guys Tyler Zuber of the Twins
and Garrett Cleavinger of the Indians, both bullpens have not been scored on in 16 innings.
We'll probably wrap up tomorrow, or come close. Fun series so far, very different games.
