Game 3 - Rich Hill (15-6, 4.14) vs Dan Straily (11-8, 4.04)
A sloppy 1st for Oakland (Altuve error, a couple walks, an infield hit, etc) gives
Chicago an early 1-0 lead. It could've been worse, but Suzuki popped out with bases
loaded. Oakland takes the lead in 3rd, on Garcia rbi-double, plus a Turner error.
A couple sac flies put Chicago ahead in 4th, and they threatened again in 5th. Turner
was HBP. One out later, Blackmon singles. With 2 outs, Suzuki walked to load bases.
Liking the matchup better, Chicago pinch hits with Tim Beckham, who comes through with
2-run double, making it 5-2. Simmons K's to end inning
Game is far from over though, as Corforto hits solo shot in 6th, and Altuve comes
through with 2-run double in 7th to tie it. Rendon grounds out with runners on 2nd & 3rd
to end that inning.
In top 8th, Suzuki doubles off Soria. Soria balks him to 3rd, and Beckham singles in
go-ahead run. Hand gets Oakland out of further trouble.
Bottom 9th...still 6-5... McCutchen 1-out single off Winkler. He steals 2nd. Altuve
strikes out, and Axford (gulp) comes in to face Conforto. A ground out to 2nd, and
Chicago takes game 3
