Both starters look good early. The Mets strike in the top of the 3rd for two runs on
hits by Aybar, Bourn and Cabrera. The Reds get one back in the bottom of the 5th as
Ryan singles home Schierholtz. The Reds pull Price after five innings making him available
for game 4 on three days rest. The Reds chase Halladay with two more runs in the 7th, and
a Carlos Santana HR in the bottom of the 8th has the Reds up by two. Ramirez leads off the
9th with a single and Madson enters for the Reds. Montero works a walk, Willingham plates
one run with a double, and G. Jones follows up with a two run single to get the Mets a
one-run lead. Mets bullpen holds fast in the bottom of the frame. Mets win a thriller 5-4.
