Game 5: Oswalt vs Haren:
Both pens were exhausted and all 4 games thus far had been decided by 1 or 2 runs. Game 5
was a pitcher duel as both aces dominated through 5 - especially Oswalt who only allowed 1
hit - though that did lead to a run, and Haren only allowing 3 hits, though one was a solo
homer by Uribe. In the top of the 6th though, lightning struck as Johnson and McCann went
back-2-back with doubles to break the tie, and then - after a Bautista walk, Dunn crushed
another pitch over the RF wall to stun the reds and make it 5-1 LA. Not to be done, the Reds
MVP 1B answered back in the bottom of the inning with a 2-run shot off Haren to make it 5-3
LA after 6. But then Manny Ramirez rose from the grave and blasted a solo shot in the 7th and
a 3-run shot in the 8th (off Belisario) to make it 9-3 LA. The Reds added a run in the 9th
off Downs to close out the first real romp in the series as LA wins 9-4 and stuns the Reds
with a 3-2 series lead. WP - Haren (1-1), LP - Oswalt (1-1)
